- Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit
The Super Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit tournament has already been announced as a YouTube series. It will feature eight of the top players (chosen by a public voting process) from around the world competing in a sixteen-player tournament in a custom arena. The top two players from each of the first two tournaments will make up the leaderboard, while the rest will have to fight their way through a “winner takes all” battle royale.
It is a game that’s a locally run, entirely fan-made Mario Kart tournament series that’s been getting bigger and bigger every year. (Check out the reel from last year’s race!) This year’s race will be held in a brand new location: the parking lot of a large shopping mall in the heart of Brooklyn. The lot itself is a bit of a trip. This is the first year that the series is being held at this particular location, but it’s been the scene of organized races in one form or another since the 80s when it was still a factory.
- Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time
As you may recall, last month, we reported on an upcoming Crash Bandicoot game being developed by Traveller’s Tales, the company behind the LEGO video games. We’re happy to say that the game Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About time will be released later this year. Judging by the game’s trailer, which you can watch above, the game won’t stray too far from the original trilogy and will include the same basic mechanics: players will fight enemies, jump over gaps, and most importantly, collect boxes.
- Star Wars: Squadrons
There’s no denying that Star Wars: The Old Republic is a fun game to play, but most of its story is locked away in the form of cutscenes-which you can’t do much in other than watch. But now, The Old Republic is about to get a free-to-play mobile game set in the same universe, which is called Star Wars: Squadrons.
The game features both PvP and PvE content and is set during the Galactic Civil War. The game involves players constructing a squadron of starfighters from various Star Wars eras and fighting battles to level up their squadron and earn new ships and upgrades. This game is available for Android, iOS, and Windows.
