E3 is an annual gaming expo, and it stands for Electronic Entertainment Expo. It is one of the biggest gaming expos in the world. Every year it is held in Los Angeles, California, US. It happens over a 5-day period, usually in June. It is the biggest video game expo in the world. It has been held every year since 1995. It is one of the biggest expos that cover video game consoles, video games, and gaming technology. It is the place where the most interesting and popular games are shown and released.
E3 2021 will be the 23rd edition of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Now, this year E3 will not be an in-person event. Instead of hundreds of thousands of people coming to a specific place, they will be able to watch the E3 conference in their very own homes.
This is a really great idea since we all know what happened last 2020 and since a lot, more people can actually see the official conference, people from all over the world can gather and watch together.
For now, there is little information about the 2021 E3. We heard a few publishers had announced the plans they hold for the E3 conferences that will uphold or during the periphery of the long-awaited event. Many people expect that a lot of games will reveal their brand new upcoming gameplays or, at the very least, trailers after earlier debuts from events that just recently happened like Sony’s PlayStation, VGAs, or the State of Play.
Now, as for the question that most people are waiting for the answer to. When will the 2021 E3 exactly happen? Well, this event will start to take play on a Saturday, it starts from June 12 to June 15, a Tuesday. The event that will take place online will have many live video conferences and a livestream that is four days long, and it is also free for everyone to watch, so don’t worry, you won’t have to let go of your money. You can find and watch this live conference from IGN, Twitch, and YouTube.
Without the Xbox keynote, it just isn’t an E3 conference anymore. Still, honestly speaking, it’d be impossible for it not to have an Xbox keynote since the ESA considers Microsoft as an important partner. So, you should look forward to seeing lots of brand-new Xbox in the Series X/S games getting announced.
Microsoft also placed many new indie games in front of the media that’ll be entering the Xbox Series consoles during their recent ID@Xbox event. Some of these indie games are expected to be Astria Ascending, and Nobody Save the World.
Sony, the company, will be holding its own State of Play event that’s completely separate from E3, and they have done this since 2019, and they have no plans of changing it this year. As for Nintendo, the company will be holding its own direct livestream if there’s no sudden change of mind. Nintendo has some of the biggest titles that they have a line-up that includes Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Bayonetta 3, Metroid Prime 4, Splatoon 4. Hopefully, we get to see a trailer of this new Pokémon game, but most expect the release to be during 2022.
Ubisoft Forward has scheduled their E3 2021 showcase on June 12, a Saturday 8 pm BST, 3 pm EDT, and 12 pm PDT. As you can see, it’s pretty early, but there has only been little information that we know about. You should be expecting footage of Rainbow Six: Quarantine and Far Cry 6 gameplay.
EA also does not have any plans on appearing at E3’s event. They have announced that the company will hold its very one Live Showcase that will take place on July 22. But, don’t worry, EA won’t be completely absent from the E3 live streaming even, so expect them to have a little screen time.
For the Summer of Gaming event, IGN will be returning this 2021, and they will have more screen time since they actually have partnered up with E3 this year. If you didn’t know, the Summer of Gaming event is an event that takes place during the summer. In this, you’ll be able to see some of the exclusive announcements that you probably won’t be able to see anywhere.
