Safety:

The safety of you and your costume is your responsibility at all times.  If you have limited movement or vision, or any other safety concerns, please tell the staff right away. You are not allowed to throw anything from the stage, leave the performing area, or leave anything on stage.

Weapons:

No live steel. Period.  Other sharp weapons must be piece bonded. If you must use a blunt weapon in your performance, please do so with extreme caution and never use in a way that might accidentally hurt someone. No live firearms.  If you must use a gun or other projectile for your presentation, use an obvious fake. NO projectile weapon able to shoot more than a suction cup dart or a foam ball will be allowed on stage. If you must "shoot" someone in your presentation, please "fire" at the ceiling or off-stage where no one is standing.

Appropriateness:

I-Con is an all-ages convention. Please keep skit content appropriate.  When in doubt, ask.

Effects:

We are unable to do special lighting effects.  Also, no fire or smoke effects will be allowed.

No Suprises:

The Competition staff needs to know exactly what's going to happen on stage. Don't worry, we'll keep your secrets for you.

Also, the legal responsibility for a presentation's content lies solely with the entrant(s). We reserve the right to disallow any presentation that we consider unsafe or unsuitable to a public setting.

Regarding Minors:

The Costume Competition is open for costumers of any age.  For legal reasons, we require the permission of a legal guardian for the minor to participate. We allow parents backstage with participants aged 14 and under.  This is not required, but recommended for costumers aged 12 and under.

Prizes:

First place in each category will receive two weekend passes to I-Con 2008.

Second place in each category will receive $20 Con Cash to spend at I-Con 2007.

Third place in each category will receive a $10 gift card provided by sponsors.
