Left alone without his parents, Yakumo was just trying to scrap by - working nights and going to High School in the day. But all that changes when he nearly runs down a strange innoncent looking girl named Pai. But appearances can be deceiving. Pai is really the last of the great immortal Sanjiyans and she's been seeking Yakumo.

Carrying a letter from his estranged father, Pai begs Yakumo to help her become human. All she needs is the Statue of Humanity. A simple sounding request, but there are others who also want want the statue and they'll stop at nothing to possess it!

Yakumo is thrust into a secret world of monsters and sorcery and his life, at least, what's left of it, will never be the same…
